Coastal Dental Care Burleigh Waters has recently upgraded its facilities from two to five state-of-the-art dental surgeries. This includes new x-ray machines equipped with 3-dimensional cone beam x-rays and an OPG machine. These are only some of the many highlights of the new practice.

The Burleigh Waters practice is now also equipped with a CEREC machine for same-day crown placement.

You will still see our familiar faces Dr Norah Ayad, Dr Martain Vanderburg and Dr Danielle Vertesi; and we look forward to growing our team of dental professionals in our larger facility.

We are pleased to see the practice thriving as we continue looking after the Burleigh community. Our team is here to support patients of all ages with their dental needs.

Coastal Dental Care Burleigh Waters is a serene dental practice, located on Treeview Drive in Burleigh Waters. Our team focuses on providing quality dentistry to the local community.

Michelle Oey-Shaw obtained a Bachelor of Oral Health and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland.

Michelle’s various passions have also seen her complete a Cert IV in Beauty Therapy, with plans to complete a Cert IV in Programming. In addition, she is also a qualified Les Mills Group Fitness Instructor.

Before commencing her role at Burleigh Waters, Michelle worked in Northern NSW for a year and in Perth for five years.

Her past roles as an Oral Health Therapist has been divided between general and specialist (orthodontist) practices.

In the Practice

Michelle is passionate about helping others and through experience, has become a major asset to any dental team. She loves the day-to-day of dentistry and is eager to make patients feel at ease and comfortable.

Michelle is committed to ensuring families are taken care. She finds it rewarding to help patients ease their fears about visiting the dentist.

Surprisingly, Michelle fell into dentistry by accident. She attributes commencing a degree in Oral Health to simply wanting something new and challenging to take on. It is safe to say Michelle found her calling. She is an enthusiastic team member and always strives to do her best work each day.

Michelle is passionate about educating patients on correct dental care and hygiene, offering a personalised and friendly approach. She also brings a high degree of professionalism to her work, developing care plans for her patients.

Michelle possesses a wealth of knowledge in regard to dietary counselling and general oral health care.

About Michelle Oey-Shaw

Michelle cut her teeth (pun intended) in dentistry in Northern NSW and Perth, but after missing her family and friends, decided to move back to the Gold Coast.

When not working, Michelle loves to stay healthy and is a huge fitness advocate. Some of her many hobbies include gymnastics, calisthenics, yoga and hiking.

She loves to show off her handstand skills and is also a passionate foster carer for ex-racing greyhounds.
